INDOOR AIR EMISSIONS
EMICODE
EC1PLUS — the strictest class in the EMICODE system — declared per product across most of the range; Eco Topcoat Mono carries EC2. This measures how little a product off-gasses into the air after installation: EC1PLUS means very low VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions, verified in an emission chamber test rather than claimed. It’s a specification requirement on most institutional and healthcare projects, and it’s about indoor air quality specifically — a separate question from embodied carbon (see Circular content and carbon reduction, below).

WATER CONTACT
Drinking-water and pool approval
Eco Sil carries KTW (drinking water) and KSW (pool) approval; Eco All In One carries DVGW W270 and W347. Why it matters: a damaged silicate surface doesn’t release calcium into surrounding water, unlike cement-based systems — relevant for drinking-water and process-water projects.

SCHEMES
BREEAM / DGNB / LEED contribution
Not a certification the floor itself holds — a contribution to specific credits (emissions, indoor air quality, responsible sourcing, material reuse, and the avoided impact of keeping the existing substrate rather than demolishing it), written per project since the applicable credits depend on the scheme version, the assessor, and the exact build-up specified.
METHODOLOGY
Circular content and carbon reduction methodology
The binder is silicon dioxide activated from industrial byproducts — GGBS from steel production and Fly Ash from coal combustion — rather than freshly extracted raw material. That byproduct share is what the 90% circular figure counts: mass of the cured system that comes from reused streams, measured on the formula, not on a project.
Carbon reduction is calculated against Portland-cement and resin systems delivering the same build-up and thickness. Because the systems are applied directly over an existing concrete, ceramic, or screed substrate — minimum thickness varies by product and project — the demolition and disposal of the old floor drops out of the comparison as well. Measured this way, the reduction is 95%.

Chemical resistance
Tested against roughly 100 individual reagents and concentrations. As one real case: independently tested against a mixture of lactic and acetic acid at pH 3 for 70 days — the exposure profile used for sewer and agricultural environments — Eco Sil retained 98% of its compressive strength versus 81% for a commercially available sewer mortar tested under the same conditions, and showed no measurable carbonation after prolonged indoor exposure, where the comparison mortar did.
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) / volume resistivity
Tested per DIN EN 1081 and evaluated against two thresholds: BGR 132 (occupational safety, requires <100 MΩ) and DIN EN 61340-5-1 (requires <1000 MΩ). Scoped per product, not range-wide:
